The Padrón 1964 Anniversary Series line debuted in 1994 to celebrate 30 years of Padrón cigars. It was a hit from the beginning, and nearly 20 years after its launch it remains one of the most popular and highly rated cigar lines on the market. The Diplomatico is the largest of the Anniversary Series cigars, save for the rarely seen "A." In maduro wrapper, it's a dark, box-pressed smoke with a perfect draw that layers the palate with copious amounts of complex flavors including nuts and toast, with a sweet hint of raisin on the finish. This year will mark the 50th anniversary of José Orlando Padrón's amazing cigar company. We're certain the company will launch something memorable to note the benchmark year, and if history is any judge, you're very likely to read about it in these pages come next year.
 
TASTING NOTE:
Precise notes of cocoa powder and coffee bean take firm hold against a nutty, woody background, all of which build to a sweet, vanilla-like finish. A delicious cigar.
